The pool has good music choice!!

So, yesterday or Tuesday, I can't remember, I went to the pool. In the middle of swimming, I hear the song 'Fallen' by Sarah Mclachlan. One of my favorite songs, and on my list!! A little bit later, I hear Your Guardian Angel by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus! That's also on my list!!!! I hear other songs, but none that I can remember other than those two. No...wait...I also hear The Reason by Hoobastank, also a favorite of mine and on my book-songs list!!! I think this is humourous!!

Lots of editors...again.

Yet again, I'm gonna talk about having my book edited. If you don't know, I'll catch you up on who's edited it, who will, and who is editing it now. sooo...

Kait edited it first

Then my friend Audra printed a copy and edited it, though I told her not to...ah well.

Then I started editing it, and I'm not even halfway through

BUT my friend name Rose is editing it now. Or she's done but I haven't gotten it yet.

Me, Audra, and Rose all edited it on the printed copy Audra printed for me. the NEXT thing I do is I have to go through and mesh together the printed copy and Kait's copy, and the original, until I find it perfected.

After that, my mom insists on editing it.

Then I have to edit it again to make sure she didn't change something I wanted the way it was.

I check over it all once again, just to make sure it's perfect, then.

That equals 8 times. and that's before I send it off to literary agents. When I DO, if I get rejected, I have to fix it and send it to some other literary agents, until someone finally accepts it...Even then, people edit their books as they're getting it published, so yeah...editing is a long process. I hope that I have the book out in a year or 2 though! That'd be AWESOME!

Family got hyper....

So, somehow, a lot of my family didn't know I was writing a book or getting it published(basically, no one there except my grandparents, mom, and sis.) So my youngest cousin, let's call her M, get's really happy. Here's the closest thing I remember to this little conversation. Grandma is grandma, A is my boy cousin, M is my girl cousin, and Me is me. obviously.
M: So I can tell my friends that my cousin is actually getting a book published in book stores?
Me: Uh...not yet. I'm not really sure yet.
Grandma: So do you need to take it somewhere?(as in, in person.)
Me: No, yiayia(I'm Greek, that's Greek for grandma if you didn't know), I can do the whole thing on the internet!
Grandma: Well, tell me if you need to pay for anything, I will pay for it.
A: Did you already get the publishers?
Me: Not yet...I'm editing.
Grandma, to A, as I say 'I"m editing': No, she's editing it.
A: What's it about?
Me: A gir-
A: I'm not buyin it! I'm not buyin it!(joking)

I felt special :D I can't remember the rest of the questions. What I do remember a lot of was 'she's writing a book? Katie, you're writing a book?' 's. Yeah. I still felt special :D I'm RARELY the center of attention with my family, and I usually don't like it, but right then, I felt special. Especially since M was so excited about it. That REALLY made me happy.

I need to catch up now...lol

hola. Kait finished editing and sent me it, and I went through and read/fixed the areas she said were wrong in comments. I have to finish editing my own copy now and then continue with the plan. About 20 days from now, I hope I'm gonna be able to send it off...busybusy...

Still Editing...but good news HAS come!

Blah...Still Publishing...but I WILL make myself do it multiple times....It's just gonna take a LONG time. Kait told me that she finished editing it, but she can't send it because of internet issues until it works...(she said today or tomorrow I'll get it) but I don't mind. The other friend finished and gave it to me printed in 113 pages. That's the one I'm editing, on top of her editing marks. I'm only on page 10. I have PLENTY more to edit and I can TOTALLY wait to get Kait's. Once I mesh them into one copy that could be considered edited 3-4 times(Kait's, the other friends, mine, and mine while I was mixing them together) I MAY send it off to someone else...so they can edit it and I can mesh THEM together until it's perfect again. Then I'll edit it for hopefully the last time. Unless I feel like it isn't perfect. Then I'll send it off for someone to edit...again. I read something on Nathan Bransford's blog about making sure it's perfect, and how to get an agent...he says that once it's perfect, an author needs to do something ELSE before they try to get it published. I may do that, but I may not...depends...but hopefully I'll find an agent by the end of this gonna-be-busy summer. Or at least TRY to find an agent. depends :D

Eep! I'm waay happy!

I'm waaay happy for apparently no reason, other than I really want to send the book off to agents!! You have no idea how hard it is to keep myself from sending an unedited version to the literary agents...thankfully, I'm able to convince myself that I need to have it edited by at LEAST my friend...I may do that and then just another friend and be done...skip the mom part. :D. Other than that, I have to start writing fanfiction again, especially my favorite fanfiction I've written so far and my chapter of a shared one...

Lotta songs...

Hola. I'm trying to make a list of songs for the book, which I've decided to call Watching Over Me, and it's going well! A little too well, actually...Less than halfway through all my songs, and I have 24 songs. Once I go through all of it, I'm gonna have to choose songs that are too broad...but I'll still probably have a huge list! lol...this is gonna take a while! Oh! and it's OFFICIALLY SUMMER! Now with finals done with, I can start blogging again and start working on my story again! even just 3 days off felt like forever...though I talked about it to a lot of people...-shrugs-

Editing plans...sorta

I can't really set dates on when I want to finish editing it, cuz my friend is editing it, and then my mom is, plus me doing it twice, so I don't know exactly when it'll be done, but I'm hoping by the end of this month!! I've already got friends who want to read it, and it's making me really happy!! yayness!! I can't wait to send it off!! On a separate note, I'm making a sorta playlist of songs I adore for this book...one of them is a dead giveaway, but it is literally perfect for the book. Your Guardian Angel by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Another is Fallen by Sarah McLachlan. I'm gonna make a complete list of about 10 or 12 awesome songs, and when I make a website(I hear it helps to have a website for selling books) I'm gonna put them in. ooh...another song could be The Reason by Hoobastank. yaaay for good songs!!

YESH!!

-dances- mah book is done! Mah book is done! Mah book is DONE, DONE, DONE!! yaaaaay!! And I finished it exactly at 11:31 tonight!! told ya guys I'd finish it within 40 minutes :D I shall go to sleep now, and be well rested for a day full of studying and a break from writing for the next 4 days. But, as soon as I finish that last final on Friday, that Spanish final, I'll be editing my butt off. OH! I should tell you the final word count of my story.

Without the chapter headings, there are exactly 65,029 words. Over 2,000 paragraphs and 338,000 characters, and almost 5,000 lines. Oh, and about a month of writing and writing more and more. :D. This is possibly my biggest accomplishment ever. -proudness-

last REAL chapter doonnnnne!

YAY! I finished chapter 28, while staying up late!! Now I'm writing the epilogue, and I think I'll be able to finish it tonight, if my mom doesn't make me go to bed soon. I bet it'll only take about 40 minutes to write! By 11:30 I'll hope to be done with it! I forgot to say, I have 64,104 words so far! I think with a 900 word epilogue I'll be safe!
